Marijuana posession charge in california?

i've never been arrested for anything and i got caught with less than a gram of marijuana can anyone tell me if this has happened to them and what happened during court?
I'm only 19 and I'm worried about:
1. insurance
2. going on my record
3. hiring an attorney
4. getting drug tested
5. my lisence being suspended
This happened in Los Angeles County if it matters

You can apply for defurance and then you can not worry about it...1st time its not a big deal .... they give you a slap on the wrist since it is a small offence

Smae thing happened to me, got nothing, trhey took my name, but thats it.........but im in australia.....n 17.....so it'd be quite different I think.
Here if its the first time n obviously only enough for one person, personal use, then u'll get off with a warning. I'm also underage which helps. Dont know bout the states.

yell in court, "hey! i had 20 pounds! where did it go?!". ...the arresting officer will dissapear out the back door.

hmmmm wtf did you still have the pot, and didnt smoke it?
