Got a ticket for driving in the HV lane, have a clean record, how much points is that and can i fight it?

Ive had my lisence for just over a year (bout 13months) and i was in a serious rush to take an exam, and i risked using the bus lane and got a ticket for it. Is there anyway to fight it? i really cant afford my insurance to go up.... and how much points will it increase it by (approx)??

ive had a clean record so far, so is there anyway for my insurance rate NOT to increase, but if it will, by approximatly how much?

i pay 2000 per year on the car for the insurance and have a clean record, (till now)

it depends on what state you're in. In NY, it's over $450 in fines and 4 - 8 points depending on circumstances.

your insurance is going to skyrocket now. You will immediately be assigned to the high risk catagory and can expect your insurance to increase dramatically. Someone I know who did this in California saw his insurance go from $2050 a year to nearly $6000 a year.

there is no way for you to fight it. you were caught red handed. all police cars have video cameras these days, there is ample evidence.

i hope that in the future you use better judgement and I feel really very bad for you but, you chose to break the rules.

keep in mind that even if you use services that will work with you to fight a ticket, such as the site mentioned by another answerer, you will still likely lose. although cops get paid to go to court, in most places where the option to fight by mail is available, they are still paid to fight by mail.

Look up "ticketAssassin.com" and request a trial by written declaration. Cops get paid to go to court to fight you in person, but if elect to fight by mail, they have to do it on their own time. You are more likely to win.
