Complete police report in CA?

Ok so long story short, i was involved in a small fender bender.... and the other person hit and ran... I filed a police report and contacted my insurance... The insurance gave me a 500 dollar deductable for my car and now my car is fixed... now I want the person who hit me to pay for my deductible... but i need to send in my complete police report to my insurance... I sent the LAPD a check and stuff to get a complete police report, but its been almost a month now... How long does this usually take? thanks

thanks u guys.. yeah the check did clear... so im guessing its ganna take a while.. called the service line and they said 12 weeks min... =(
understaffed indeed..

LAPD non-injury property damage only accident reports can take several weeks to receive. You should always send such requests certified mail return receipt requested and enclose a stamped self-addressed #10 sized envelope.

Check and see if your check has cleared your bank. If so, you should probably give it another month or so. If the check has not cleared, then you should probably send a new request, as I described.

(You should put 3 or 4 stamps on the envelope, in case the report runs several pages.)
