Child Support in Maryland???

I'm in the process of trying to get child support from my daughter's father. I have a strong feeling he won't show up to the court date. However since they already know where we both work couldn't they just call and request our paystubs, insurance info and daycare info and set it up it up in there office for what the amount will be. He has already been established as the father.

If he fails to appear, the court is likely to enter an interim order so that you can start getting child support. The ct. will then require both parties to bring in evidence of their income so the ct. can accurately calculate and establish child support.

If he doesn't show up, then he'll have a bench warrant issued for him. Then he will be picked up, if need be, at work, but more than likely at home. Then he HAVE to set it up to have payments sent to Social Services. If he doesn't pay then, they will garnish his wages. It would be smart to show up. I also live in MD, and I have a relative that is a 'dead-beat' dad.

he could be held in contempt of court. He could then be required to sign the papers for wage withholding to be sent to the Child Support Bureau. It is not automatic without his signature, but can be forced by the court.

well he will be incontempted if he doesnt show up but i dont think they will request thast stuff but he will be arrested
