How do i file a complaint against a paralegal?

the paralegal handling my case (i was struck by a car) did not call me or bother to look on my file that my address had changed and mailed 2apptmnts for an IME (medical checkup by the drivers insurance company) to the wrong address. After i informed her i had called several times to find out when the IME was when she never returned my calls she came up with lame excuses. She then told me it was MY fault for not receiving it. However, after i told her to check my file she found out that indeed i had called 2 months earlier to notify her of my change of address. She then said o well i mailed it to BOTH even though she was surprised and admitted the secretary told her i had called 2 months ago to notify them of my address. Now...instead of calling she mails me a denial of all my medical expenses from the insurance co. which means i will have to pay all the medical bills from my accident because i did not show up to the IMEs. what can i do?

thanks bottle blonde i will write a letter of complaint to the lawyer but do you think they will drop my case ?

Send a letter via certified mail with a return receipt (to prove their office received it) to the lawyer you hired outlining the above and advise them what you feel a good resolution would be and ask the attorney what they plans to do to resolve his employee's incompetence or you he will leave you no choice but to file a complaint with the Bar Association about the conduct of that office.

I don't know if you are in a jurisdiction like Ontario Canada where paralegals are licensed and regulated. It sounds like you have a paralegal independent of a lawyer, so I thought it might be Ontario.

If it is Ontario you can file a complaint with our regulator the Law Society of Upper Canada www.lsuc.on.ca
