Nation claims helpline-ha no win no fee its a joke?

i recently had a car accident and was directed by my insurance company to follow up claim-to make it look legitimate. All i was interested in was getting my shoulder mended. I contacted the national claims helpline who sent an advisor quickly and stated as i had photographic evidence it was an open and shut case. They allocated walker smith way in Chester to my case and they sent me off to see a Dr on Rodney street in Liverpool. Thinking everything was going according to plan, co-operating with every request and keeping in contact via e:mail(on my part), i suddenly received a letter stating 1.that they would no longer represented me as i had requested someone else to do so-it was an error but they did not write to ask if info correct or not 2. they had shut case 3. and now the other side were disputing case! i contacted them immediately-they didn't take my call. After a week of attempting to contact them, some one explained that case closed end of-ive now no solicitor!is this right?

Have you spoken to the insurance company? What evidence did the solicitors have that you had requested someone else? In the first letter you had from them, known as the "rule 15" or "client care letter" among solicitors, they should have told you about how to complain. Get a complaint letter off to that person urgently. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain then to the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (the sols should provide you with the details, but just in case, www.sra.org.uk. In the meantime, if the insurance co are unhelpful, you can complain about them - get them to notify you of their complaints procedure. Complaints about them generally can be dealt with apparently by the Financial Ombudsman Service on tel 0845 080 1800. It might also now be an idea to see if you can find a firm to take your case on - many do 'no win no fee'. You may also have a claim against the first solicitors for any loss of the chance to sue but that will depend on your original case. I have to say that this is not my area of speciality, but is my understanding about how to complain. Hope it helps. Good luck.
