Is it legal to fake your death if life insurance is not paid?

Also, is it true that if you aren't caught before 18 years have passed, then you can legally come back?

Legally death requires a death certificate. Fooling the authorities into agreeing to sign your death certificate would involve some sort of fraud even if there was no life insurance fraud. If you want away from your current life why would you ever want to come back? Assuming that the fraud did not involve murder to provide a body for the authorities there is currently a statute of limitation beyond which the authorities would not file charges. I would not count on 18 years since that time limitation could be legally changed over the next two decades

Misrepresenting the facts about death to an insurance company is considered insurance fraud and is by punishable by very high fines, time in jail / prison, or both no matter how long has passed.

The fact that you committed a crime and the crime did not pay off does not mean that you did not commit a crime.

Yes, idiot

No and No.
