If i had liability insurance on my car, how would I be able to file a claim.?

My car was stolen. Don't I need full coverage to recover the loss of the car? I thought at least I could send a request to the casino's insurer for reimbursement and mental distress. This casino has horrible security and bad customer service. I do understand that I do park at my own risk but I really don't even remember seeing signs that state no liability.

They don't need to put signs out. Every time you park your car you are at the mercy of the elements--human and weather related.

If you didn't have "comprehensive" coverage for your vehicle, which is not required by most state laws, then you are responsible for the loss.

File a police report if you haven't already and hope that your vehicle shows up in the police yard.

Otherwise good luck on finding a new car...sorry about your loss...

You need full coverage (comprehensive coverage) to claim against your own insurance. Check your policy to make sure you don't have that coverage. As for suing a casino, .... you park at your own risk most of the time. The matter of signs may depend on what state. And, if your car has a low enough value, you may be able to take it up in small claims court and not have to pay an attorney.

You need to have comprehensive insurance to cover costs of it being stolen.

You can't do it under liability insurance - that's for your liability to other parties.

If their security was negligent, they may have to pay for your car. Bring it up with the insurer and see what happens.
