Can a wife put insurance on a car under her name while the car is purchased solely under husband's name? |
Can a wife put insurance on a car under her name while the car is purchased solely under husband's name? No, the insurance is in the name of the owner. The wife would be listed as the principal driver. You can do it on line with GEICO. She can if the insurer accepts her as a "policy holder". The policy would be considered "invalid" however, if she (the wife) had given any information to the insurer that could be considered fraudulent. I don't see why not...I insured a car under my own name when the registered owner was my dad.....he wasn't even there when I got it insured. So I think a wife would be homefree. Yes, Auto Insurance 101 Yep she can. |
