Do I have a case to sue a moving company? |
I live in PA. A moving company has damaged my sofa. I took it to an upholstry company and they told me it could not be fixed. It has an ugly rip on the bottom/front. The sofa cost me $600 and the moving company is only willing to give me $135. They claim that state law regulates insurance claims and they are only liable for $0.30 a pound. Is this true and can I sue for the rest? That is very true. Ins coverage is based on weight, and, by law, that is what you are insured for.To sue would be a waste of time and money. You won't get back any more. The $.30 a pound was mentioned in the contract and you have already agreed to it. More than likely, they offered you more insurance at an extravagant price. moving company details you can get from here http://www.aaamoving-store.com/. It is sad but true. |
