I got my first driving ticket?? HELP a teen!! :(? |
I've been driving over a year now. I just got my first ticket, it wasn't from speeding but something stupid such as not yielding at a flashing red light(I didn't know thats what it meant). So I got a 90 bucks fine and one point off. What does one point off to do? Will it raise my insurance cuz my mom would kill me? My friend told me to just go to court for pled I'm guilty and they should lower or drop the charges. Any info on what I should do? BTW I live in the state of Maryland and I'm 18. Thanks Okay Trahern B, I understand your point of view. But there is no need to insult me. Sometimes ignorance is not one's fault. I don't recall reading it from my permit test nor from my driving school classes. What about people in third world country who lack knowledge on nutrition and eats unhealthy. Is it their fault? Okay I made an mistake but that's good cause I learned from it. For your information. Yes I do know what a damn red, yellow and green lights means. That's why I been driving over a year and some months without ever getting a ticket, pulled over or accident until yesterday night!! Go to court plea guilty. You will pay the ticket and they will offer you driving school instead of the point. If you plea not guilty and try to fight it the judge will not remove the point when you are found guilty. Whoo, you should review the rules of the road! You could have had a serious accident if you failed to yield at a flashing red! some states let you take a defensive driving course and it will not be on your record or raise insurance rates, however, you might want to find out how much it could go up, because in some states there is a limit to how often you can use it, such as 3 years. then if you got in an accident you could be sol! Ignorance of the law is no excuse. You had to take a class and had to take a permit drivers test and a drivers test to be allowed to drive. So why is it you claim you did not know what a flashing red light is? You must know what a red light is! Therefore no judge in the world is going to believe you. Even i don't! You were being stupid and continuing your act of stupidity will sway no one! Don't drive if you don't understand what red, yellow or green lights mean! |
