Injured by collapsing chair in hotel, what to do? |
Hi, I could really do with some good advice if anyone has some please? I am on holiday in Egypt, I am staying in a 5 star hotel, part of the Sonesta group which is based in the US. Yesterday I was sitting on a chair in my room when it simply collapsed, I mean just fell apart. It left my hand bleeding with a deep enough gash that required stiches. The hotel called a doctor and he stiched me up. But that is it. The hotel sent a fruit basket to the room and offered us a dinner on th house, my wife and I. The general manager had the audacity to suggest that I was too heavy for the chair, excuse me, I am 112kgs and 6ft...not exactly super obese. And if that is the way he wants to play it, ok, then where was the weight limitation sign. I was really in shock yesterday, it was very painful. I am just unsure what to do, folks. Direct the hospital bill to the hotel, they ought to pay it. |
