Ticket for no car insurance:?

My son's g/f got a ticket for no insurance. She has to pay ~$500 plus show proof of insurance. Because of multiple prior tickets, minimum insurance would be $2,000 per year.

If she doesn't get the insurance, doesn't pay the ticket, what are the consequences? Will the court issue a warrant for her arrest? Can she go to jail?

At best she will lose her license and be forced to pay the ticket. The court will issue a warrant for her arrest. She could very likely spend some time in jail. Some people never seem to learn.

It's a possibility, but a payment plan might be worked out with the court. You should also consult a lawyer. Lots of luck to both of you

She should get insurance. Have her try using http://My-InsuranceSearch.com to compare car insurance rates for all the major providers in your area.
