If I ask my Insurance Co to pay same $400 to make the tree safer instead of fence repair should they agree?

A tree in my yard drops a large branch in a storm on the paling fence between my house & my neighbours house. His garage is next to the fence & its roof is damaged slightly but the garage prevents serious damage to the fence; it is still standing.
The Insce Co agrees to pay for 50% of the fence repair. The rest of the tree is unbalanced by the fallen limb & consists of two remaining sections. After seeing an arborists report, the Insce Co agree to cover removal of the north branch because it is a threat to my house & its integrity was damaged by the fall of the first (east) branch.
However their offer is conditional on my paying for the removal of the third & final west section of the tree , which is the largest part, because removal of the north branch will further destabilise the tree resulting in a threat to the neighbouring property & house on the other (west) side of my house. Remember the Insce Co agreed to pay for fence repair, so my request will not cost them any more.

Take the check and use it to pay for the tree trimming. The insurance company doesn't care if you actually fix your fence or not. They agree only to pay for the damage.
