Optical Bill Question? |
I have vision insurance from work. My wife and I visited a Pearle Vision in June 2007. We paid our copay and out of pocket etc. Then in Feb 2008 I received a bill from Pearle Vision for the amount that the insurance was supposed to cover. I called my insurance and they said that an authorization was obtained but a claim was never filed for my visit. So I called up Pearle Vision, spoke to the store manager and then got the store manager and the insurance rep on the line to make sure that the store manager knows how to file the claim correctly. Yet, I still continue to receive a bill from Pearle Vision for the same issue. I have contacted the store manager and she said that she filed the claim. Yet, the insurance company keeps saying that a claim has not been filed. I am very fed up of this. I feel like I am being harrassed for something that is not my fault. And I'm worried that the bill is gonna end up on my credit report. Do I have any legal protection from claims in this case? Thanks If your insurance company does not pay it, it is up to you to pay it. However, you probably should do this yourself, and file the claim yourself. pearl vision needs to file another claim or have them fax one to your insurance co. If this dosen't work, ask the manager for the number to the billing dept. and explain what is going on. They are usually very helpful with insurance claims. good luck. submit the claim to the insurance company yourself. Pay the amount, and the insurance company will reimburse you |
