My landlord did not give me a mailing address is this legal?

i moved here in febuary lost a job and my health insurance since my mail keept being returned and i couldnt get an i.d. since i have no mailing address..... can i make my landlord give me one or do i have to move

i cannot get a p.o. box since the post office has to see my oregon i.d. with my address but my address doesnt exsist so i cant get an i.d.

You have power and water right? Somewhere along the line they got the physical address that is phantom to post office. Your address exists, and it's determined by the location, not by your landlord.

Even if there is no postal address attached to the building, there HAS to be a physical address. This is required by law for emergency services purposes.

I do not know if he is required to provide you with a postal receptacle or not. However, even if you cannot get a PO Box, you can register with the USPS for general delivery.

There has GOT to be some way for you to determine the street address of the building that you live in. If nothing else, go online with the county auditor's office and look up the parcel address by the landlord's name.

I don't think he has any liability regarding your lost job or health insurance.

I guess you mean you rent in someone else's house? Have you tried sending a letter to yourself at the address?
See what happens.

I suspect your landlord is not reporting the income from your rent so doesn't want you shown as living there, if you push it he will probably kick you out anyway - go look for another place to stay.

This is illegal

You do have a physical address and have you thought of getting a post office box?
