Trouble at home and parents legal help? |
Hello. I am a 15 1/2 year old male from Ohio. My parents are from a different culture, so they act a lot different than most American parents. Well, since my dad is from Ukraine, he tries to "discipline" me the old motherland way. Since I am very Americanized, it doesn't go well with me, so we continually butt heads. For example, today he tried to force me to help him clean up around the house, but I refused since I just came home from a long day of school, and working out. He went off on me and even threatened to whip me, so I tell him if he tries to hit me I'll report him to the authorities. He goes ahead and slaps me on the face, causing me to call 911. He cut the phone line off before it could dial. He threatened to break my laptop and xbox 360 if i continue arguing with him. What can I do legally to have some kind of insurance against him ever hitting me or breaking any of my personal possessions? Is there any type of legal document I can obtain; anything I can wave in his face? Me being a spoiled brat? First of all, I have a job, and bought all my "toys" with my own money. I don't remember the last thing I got for Christmas. If I want something, I buy it. And as for my dad coming home from a long day's work, he's UNEMPLOYED. Second of all, it's been building up for a long time. I didn't all of a sudden decide to stop respecting me day; I have reasons for doing so. From me being 10 years old and being whipped 40 lashes just for going to the library without asking, to having my gameboy advance broken at age 11 just because I bought it without asking him, to being constantly yelled at for no reason. I could think of 1000 more examples. Your parents do not deserve to be mistreated by a spoiled insolent brat. Why not take the advise given the first time you asked this question. Then you can live in a foster home and learn first hand what abuse is. Within a week you will be crying to go back home. You should be ashamed of yourself. He should take away your toys and sell them. Come off it, once your 18 and can vote then you get your rights. http://www.pcao.org/resources/pdfs/2007P... WHAT your dad after a long day at work to earn the money to take care of all your needs had the nerve to ask you to help him to clean up the house you live in that he pays for!!! AND he threatened to break the laptop and the xbox 360 He paid for with his hard earned money!!!!The nerve.. Go ahead call CPS and go live with people you have never seen before I suggest you leave your expensive belongings at home as you never know who you'll be bunking with. In case youve failed to notice Iam being sarcastic.Grow up , help your father |
