How to stop telemarketer who calls even though I'm on the Do Not Call list?

I've had repeated calls from a company called Wilkerson & Asso from 270-631-0300 and they say "Hello, we are Wilkerson Research and we are going to ask you questions about your medicare or other health insurance..."

Something like that. She seemed mainly interested in my private information so I told her that I wasn't interested and hung up on her. She called back almost immediately and I asked who Wilkerson & Asso were. She told me they were doing selective research for the government or something. I told her I wasn't interested and hung up again.

I just now went to the store to get groceries and supplies. When I got back, I looked at my caller ID, and there have been 8 more calls from this Wilkerson & Asso. I feeling this is a telemarketer in disguise. How do I report them or have them investigated?

I've received two calls from them over this week. I looked them up and found this.

I think they are nothing but telemarketers who are trying to get around the do not call bans. Here is where to complain about them.

I believe they still fall into the category of 'nuisance' telemarketer type calls, especially if they call over and over.

PS: If they persist and do not listen to your wish not to be bothered, tell them you need to put them on hold to go ask your husband/mother/father/head of the house or so on. Then put the phone down and go do what you want, read a book, finish work or homework, or watch television. At some point they will realize you are not coming back. If they call back, do the same thing again.

Tell them you are on the no call list, after you get their name. The individuals name.
Be very official. Be very serious. Tell them you will report them. After you tell them you are on the no call list, tell them clearly to take you off their list! (they are supposed to not call you back after that)
Some charities are still allowed to call. I have politely asked them to take me off their list, I do not donate over the phone, & I donate to the charities I want to.

The Do Not Call List does not apply to market research companies. Market research companies may call you. When they do, say "please put this number on your do not call list". This is not the same as the national list, it is a list they keep for their own company.

If you suspect that they are not a market research company, you can ask them questions to find out. Here is a great video showing you what to do:

If they are asking for personal info, it's a scam. If you tell a legitimate telemarketing company that you are on the Do Not Call List, it is policy to never call again. They can be fined big time for that, which makes me think it's either a bad employee or more possibly a scam to get your personal info.

People conducting surveys are exempt, as they aren't trying to sell you anything.

Just get her name, the date and time, and tell her that you want to be removed from their calling list. If you ask a company to remove you and they repeatedly call you, they can be fined by the FCC.

go to donotcall.gov and report them. I have done this on occasions. The next call you get from them, politely ask to talk to that persons supervisor and state you will report them if you are not taken off of their call list.

Yes, put the phone down....they're not allowed to hang up.
That'll tick them off!! Haha.....

Seriously, why do people get jobs as telemarkters? No one likes them and I certainly wouldn't want to deal with rude people all day.

When they call, say HOLD on I will get her/him... Put the phone down and then go BAKE A CAKE :)

Mmmm Mmmmm Sweeeet revenge :)

lol, i have the funniest email

1. After the telemarketer finishes speaking, ask him/her to marry you.

2. Tell the telemarketer you are busy at the moment, and ask him/her if he/she will give you his/her home phone number so you can call him/her back.

3. Ask them to repeat everything they say, several times.

4. Tell them it is dinner time, BUT ask if they would please hold. Put them on your speaker phone while you continue to eat at your leisure. Smack your food loudly and continue with your dinner conversation.

5. Tell them that all business goes through your agent, and hand the phone to your five year old child.

6. Tell them you are hard of hearing and that they need to speak up...louder. ..louder. ..louder!

7. Tell them to speak very slowly because you want to write every word down.

8. If they start out with, "How are you today?", say "I'm so glad you asked, because no one these days seems to care, and I have all these problems.... ........"

9. Cry out in surprise, "Helen, is that you? I've been hoping you'd call! How is the family?" When they insist they are not Helen, tell them to stop joking. This works especially well if the telemarketer is really MALE.

10. Tell the HSBC call center guy to call on your office number. - and give him the ICICI call center number
