If someone breaks my cell phone what can i do?

I got into an arguement with my ex demanding him to give me money that he owed. I took his friends drink and cigarettes and threw them away. But i thought it was his. He took my keys out of my car so i couldn't leave he then tried to hit me but i ran. Then he took my phone and broke it into pieces. Its new. I tried to get him baker acted. But i oculd never tell the police in fear he would hurt me. I called shelters for advice and they want me to move to their shelter and i have too much here. I was wondering if i could file a report to get a new phone and i get the money i loaned him. I paid with a credit card so would that be proof i paid for his insurance. I want my compensation. Please help!

I think the feedback is great. And i so agree that i wanted to leave him so bad but we have a daughter. And i want revenge but i know thats a bad idea. Lifes so complicated. Im going to file a report. I don't want him in anymore trouble becuz i don't wanna die lol im for real though. Im always checking my rear view mirror and looking out the windows. AND IM NOT EVEN ON DRUGS!!! im just super paranoid. I always check the locks on the doors and i dunno. THANKS for the comments. By the way i can't file a restraining order cuz ive called the cops so many times on him and got scarred and never filed a report. I want to move but i already have a nice life here.

You should have known him well enough not to try to dump his drink and cigarettes, so you started this.

You can file a police report. He might be willing to pay for it to get you to drop the charges. If he owes you other money, sue him in small claims court.

Next time don't act so childish with someone who you know is a nut case.

TL, I think that you are doing a lot of things wrong.

Don't see your ex.
Don't loan him money.
Don't pay for his insurance.
Don't talk to your ex, except through your lawyer. It is apparent that the two of you are adversaries.

If I were in your shoes, I would consider moving to another city, or another part of town where you will not run into him.

You know, you could earn enough for a new cell phone just by telling this story on the Jerry Springer show.

get a restraining order, then make him pay over court.
show that bastard women are stonger then he thinks!

call the cops anonymously and find a new man who can protect u ... also i would recommend u get a good tazer.

ok,since he broke the phone he should be responsible of that. and if you have insurance on that phone they should be able to replace that. and tell the credit card place that your phone was tooken,not that your lying but it was. and ask if they can reverse the charges back on your card.

by the way you shoudl never be scared of anyone,including men. some men pardon me are dumb. take a stand and report him hun,never let him manipulate you sweety,nor control you in anyway. you have freedom of rights as well.
