I got a traffic violation in W. Hollywood, CA a yr ago & paid it. Can I get the points off my record now? |
Since I paid it a year ago and didn't go to traffic school, is it too late now since I guess I've technically already been convicted of that violation? I had no idea that my insurance rates were up almost an extra 1000 dollars a year for it, and it stays there for three years. Sorry, but you are correct on everything you say. There is no way to get the ticket dismissed now, and the DMV point system goes back three years. Of course, your insurance company can have its own rules about how long it will affect your insurance rates. Depending on your state, points will stay on your license for 3 to 6 years or so. then they will just fall off your record (we're talking about minor traffic infractions). Your insurance company will do regular reviews on your insurance account anyway, so they will change it when the points are gone. |
