Do i have to pay the state back for insurance and food stamps?

i was on insurance from the state during my pregnancy and birth. at the time i was un-married, but they knew i lived with my boyfriend and he had a job supporting us. a month later after i had my daughter, i got off state insurance. i then got married. afew months later, me and my husband applied for insurance and food stamps. what the chances of having to pay the state back for the pregnancy/birth? what about now with the food stamps and insurance as a married couple? im afraid that if we stopped the insurance and food one day, and bought our first home, the state will try to take it from us? also, no cash assistance is being received. thanks

also live in CT

Government benefits are not a loan. You don't have to pay them back unless you obtained them fraudulently.

You do not have to repay food stamps or medicaid. They will not take your home. They do seek repayment of cash assistance from the non-custodial parent by intercepting tax refunds, but since that doesn't apply to your situation you should have nothing to worry about.

Two abled body people who can buy a home.

Why in the world would you need assistance ?

I suggest you pay the money back.

I don't think so.
