Insurance Claims.. A 17yr old just missed me this weekend, although he forced me off the road and into an? |
accident (hitting a really large sign). This did lots of damage to the car. The 17yr old was cited for wreckless driving. His insurance officer came today to look at my car (3 days after). He is questioning some of the damage. It rained for 3 straight days after the accident and he is questioning the rust on the dent. Obviously he doesnt know what causes rust..or lives where it doesnt rain much. If the company DOES NOT offer to pay for full damages, can i take them to court? Plus, can i sue for court and lawyer cost? (i am a school teacher, therefore cant afford the BEST attorneys). All I want is my jeep fixed..however i dont want to be jerked around..some advice please. You can take them to court. They will argue their case you will argue yours. I dont know what the total damage is, but small claims is not that expensive to file in. Generally you can recover legal and court fees. I think he knows what causes rust, hes questioning the amount of time it took for it to rust. Sheet metal rusts pretty fast, but generally not in a couple days (NOt that I dont belive you, Im just saying). Your insurance might help you if they try to screw you, try talking to them also. |
