How do I ask for money for my liability insurance claim?

I was in a restaurant and a chair snapped off a portion of my finger. I told the insurance company that I wanted to be rembursed. I spoke to a lawyer (just to c.y.a.) cause I don't want to sue, but just in case problems should arise. My lawyer told me that if I sued I would get approx $5,000 for pain & suffering. But that the insurance company should offer me money anyway. I am at the point now where I'm ready to submit my invoices, photos, etc.

I want to include a statement saying, hey give me some money. But I'm not sure how to word it properly. What is the best way to handle this?

What you are talking about is a 'demand'. You can create your own demand package, including copies of your medical bills, medical reports, statements regarding how much money you have lost in wages (from your employer), and any other out of pocket expenses you have incurred. In the letter you send, you state that you are willing to settle this claim for $$$$$ (what ever you feel is fair). From this point it is up to the company and you to negotiate a value on the claim that is fair.

You can hire a lawyer to do this for you, but understand that they will charge you for this service, and the money comes out of your settlement.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but maybe now is the time to talk to the lawyer again. He can tell you what your needing.
This is a delicate situation and quite frankly, I am not sure I would want advice from Y.A. regarding money like this. I certainly don't want to be responsible for you not getting the money you deserve. Good luck to you and I am sorry to hear about your injury.
