Insurance underwriter???? |
please help i need to know how much money they make and how math is involved and what they do and if you are an insurence underwriter please tell me if you enjoy your job and for wat reasons (ex. i love doing all the calculations and stuff) NOT (ex. i like it cause my boyfriend/husband/crush works there) please dont say that! its nice but be seirios here ppl.lol. BE AS DETAILED AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN AND MABE ADD IN A FEW UKNOWN DETAILS OR SOMETHING! hurry plzzz thx a bunch!!!!! your friend carley! I was an insurance underwriter way back in the 1970s. There isn't that much math involved. You have to look at claim trends (number of claims going up or down), refer to actuarial tables and set the rate. You don't do any statistical work. The job was OK, but the pay (at least in the 1970s) was low. I got a 30% increase when I start a new job in a new industry. It's the objective of insurance companies to keep rates as low as possible. One way to do that is to pay employees low salaries. Still, if you are just starting your employment history, then it's a good place to start. I have been a claims adjuster for a large insurance company. Attention to detail is very important. Spelling errors and grammatical errors are sure fire killers in the world of insurance underwriting. |
