Why would a man who broke his girlfriend's leg with her consent for an insurance scam gets 3 years jail, when

youth who killed a 4 year old, in a hit and run, while reversing the wrong way down a one way street, without insurance, and plenty of previous convictions, goes free?

We have a society that values money higher than children.

It seems wrong, but I guess the main reason might be the insurance company has great lawyers.

Stuff like this doesnt make any sence to me either! Makes you wonder about the kind of world we are living in

Because in this society there is no more severe crime than that of hurting money, or the accumulation of money. Crimes against money are treated extremely harshly, crimes against four year old children make people very angry, but money doesn't get hurt, so the punishment is much less severe. You will see many many more examples of this disparity of punishment in your life. This is just one example of the mountain of injustices that occur in this society each and every day.

I doubt you will get charged with the assault, but you are likey to be charged with a fraud offence, and these are serious offences and are likey to be sent to jail.

Because one was a negligent act and one was a deliberate act.

But I do agree that a severe custodial sentence would have been appropriate for this hit and run driver.

Because the judges are riddled with institutionalised stupidity.
The insurance fraudster's girlfriend ought to be in prison too, she was obviously in on it !

For the insurance scam, that's why! & you dont just break somebodys leg, wheter they said you could or not! sometimes the state chooses to press charges even if the victim does not want to.
