When a car is stoen and you report it to police and your insurance what does your insurance company do ? |
Do they press legal charges, as well as the person who owned the car reports it as stolen presses charges. No they don't press any charges that's your responsability as the owner of the car; they will ask you for a copy of the stolen-car-report and probably will make a small investigation to make sure this is not a fraudulent claim, then you will get paid if the car is never found in good condition (if the car is found in bad drving conditions refuse to take it back; OR make the insurance pay for the damages). They will give you a check for the value of the car / find you a replacement car of equivalent value depending on your insurance policy. Normally the insurance company won't sue the thief to recover costs because there isn't usually anything to recover. If they find your car or the stripped remains of your car, they will auction them off. I think they just pay the money it will cost you to get ur car back or to pay for the damage someone has done to the car if u get it bk x |
