Is There Any Kind Of Financial Assistance For VICTIMS Of FIRE ...?

My sister's house burnt down, and she lost everything. She has to wait for her fire insurance to decide when to help her and how much to help her with, but meanwhile she has no house, no food (the fire took it all), and little money. The fire came at the worst possible time ... she doesn't get paid for another week or so.

And when she does, all that'll go on food, electricity and rent for an apartment. Because, of course, she can't stay in her house. What wasn't completely destroyed by the fire became fair game for people breaking in ... because, of course, she has no more security system. That puts a question on whether or not the fire insurance will help her with the damage that the fire did cause on what was stolen. I'm not even sure whether or not they'd already assessed the damage!

What can she do? She's just starting out in life, and she's already been beaten down. It hurts that she's starving in another state, and I have little to offer her. Any suggestions?

i agree with red cross but you can google organizations to help aid her in the state that she resides in and if she has insurance maybe she can file a theft report to cover the things that were stolen.

Try the American Red Cross . . . they will usually provide temporary shelter.
