Court order question........please help.......? |
Okay, we went to court on March 13, 2008. We had a previous signed agreement for child support but since there had been a change in circumstances the support was increased. That is not a big deal for me. However, just yesterday I got another notice in the mail for a new court appearance. It hasn't even been two weeks. The court order isn't in force until April 1, 2008. It requires me to pay 40 percent of medical, vision and dental after he pays 250. He wants me to pay half of the bills from last year. My son hasn't even been up there for a year yet. I never agreed to anything but child support in our original agreement, which is now null and void because of the new court order. My question is will I have to pay bills for last year or does that part start after April 1 and after he has paid the first 250 not covered by insurance? i have gone through a horrible court experience crap myself. truthfully, the court can do whatever it wants. we mean nothing. it's amazing how my life was dictated to me in 5 minutes and i had 5 kids at the time. all i can say is good luck. if you have shared placement or full custody, see if you qualify for state assistance. then you won't have to worry about either paying anything, or a small amount in the future child support system is cruel and bias who ever doesn't have the kid will get screwed hard and the judge will laugh in your face Do you have a lawyer? As much as the thought of spending good money on one is disturbing, it can also potentially save you money. All this can be very confusing and you could otherwise make an agreement you don't fully understand, and be stuck complying with it! You need someone on your side for advice. The court will do what is right for the child only. Borrow the money if you have to or see if there are oganizations in your area that can help you. Welcome to man's world. Get ready for the shaft the man seems to know what he's doing when getting you back in the court room. sounds abite weird of the other being null. Talk to your lawyer. You'll have to pay what the court orders. |
