How to get a juvenile felony record expunged before he is 18?

My son was found guilty for felony assault because he kicked another boy between the legs. I am not rich. How can he get this removed now? I want him to get a job and earn money to pay for his gas and car insurance. And will this affect any University hopes? NBA? I cannot sleep & need help.

Juvenile records are sealed. You don't need to get it expunged. Juvenile proceedings are not open to the public for that reason.

Juvenile proceedings are not the same as criminal convictions. If he is asked a question whether he has been convicted of a crime, he can honestly answer no, as long as he does not get convicted as an adult. In that case it would not be in juvenile court.

This should not have any effect on college or athletics because employers and colleges are not allowed to ask about juvenile proceedings.

Just make sure he doesn't get into any other trouble.

You DON'T get it expunged, it's that simple.

Yes, it can affect his future chances, but that's why he should have obeyed the law in the first place.

He'll have to wait until he becomes an adult for the record to be sealed.
