Legal question - what should I do here?

I'll make it short.
I filed a report against my husband for taking my vehicle without permission.
I don't want to persue the charge because I acted in haste.
He was registered as the primary driver for that vehicle on the insurance policy.
I've written a letter to the crown advising of such, but they haven't changed anything about the proceedings.
I feel terrible and want this situation to end asap.
Does anyone know what procedure should be had?
Advice on how to proceed?

I interned for about a year at a law office, and I know that if you call most private lawyers, [they should be listed in the book], they can give you basic legal advice over the phone and for free.

Because you were the one to file the case, from what i've seen, you should be able to defer it. Call a local law office in the morning and tell their secretary that you have a legal council question - because you're not a client, they may ask to take a message. Tell their secretary your question; they will ask the lawyer, in most situations, and deliver the advice to you like a messenger.

I know this isn't much help, but I do hope things work out for you.

You need legal counsel. You won't find qualified assistance on here. Call a lawyer. Good luck!

Usually they continue to prosecute even though the original complainant doesn't want to proceed with the charges. In most cases, if you don't cooperate with them they don't have enough evidence and will usually drop the charges. But I agree, for such a serious issue I would seek the advice of an attorney.
