What should I do about a child that keeps harassing us? Please read below. Thanks.?

Me and my girlfriend live in an apartment just down a couple of doors from another tenant who has a young 11 year old child who has repeatedly harassed us lately. Up until recently there were no problems and he'd simply knock on our door when he needed something. It has become an issue because he is verbally assaulting my girlfriend asking if she'd be his girlfriend, if he could have sex with her, he's "gonna get up on that ***", etc etc. We've told him it is disrespectful and not to talk like that. He has now starting banging on our doors early in the morning and in the evening with sticks, hits his bike tires on my girlfriends car even after she asked him to stop. Yesterday he rode his bike out toward my Jeep as I was driving by aiming for my back tire; I had to swerve and nearly hit the curb as I was braking to avoid him. I politely got on to him about it and he threatened me and said he would sue me if I hit him and that I better have insurance. His mom is never home to talk to.

Call your local police (the non-emergency number) and explain the situation/ask for advice. In the meantime, you and your girlfriend should keep your eyes peeled for this kid's mother or father.
On a side note...personally I would grab him by the shirt the next time he's close enough and no one is around - pull him close and look him square in the eye and, in a low voice, threaten him within an inch of his life. Tell him you will beat his *** the next time he pulls anything. Tell him you most certainly do have insurance and it is for that very reason you will run his *** over the next time he comes near either one of your vehicles.
You guys are threatened by an 11 year old kid. Unless he's got major issues it won't take much to scare him off. Show him some authority! And again make sure no one is around. If he "tells" on you, deny it.
This might sound bad but I don't care....sometimes kids need a good old-fashioned threat! Remember the days when someone ELSE'S parents could discipline you? And it worked! Get his fear and respect. After that, he'll probably warm up to you and THEN you guys can go out for ice cream.

This is obviously a distressed child who needs attention and parenting! The best thing, if you have the time, temperament and energy, is to take the kid out for ice cream, listen compassionately about what he needs in his life and how he feels ( see Nonviolent communication methods), and only then request specific, appropriate behaviors. Perhaps you can promise him your attention if he behaves well around you?

If you are not up for that, report the child to the Dept. of Social Services, so his family can get some help.

Wow!
I would go ahead and report this kiddo to the police. Child or not, his behavior is way out of line. At 11 y/o, he knows right from wrong. And certainly, if his mother is never around, he's got no one to discipline him for this. I'd be afraid he could get even more out of hand. I mean, if it went from just knocking on the door to ask for things to this in just a short time, my fear would be how far he will go.
Definately report this and start that paper trail now. Sounds like this kid's got a lot of problems that will only grow..

call the police !

Call the police the next time he bangs on your door. Then call cps and report an unsupervied child.

Call the police
