You don't need a continuance for that and they're rarely granted in traffic court anyway. Instead, the judge will send you to the clerks office to work out a payment schedule for the fine. Explain that you don't have the funds to pay it all right now, and estimate how long it will take you (try to keep it under 90 days). In nearly all cases this is perfectly fine. I think you'll need a better reason than that; but try it., |
