What happens if I can't meet the court's Deadline for Community Service hours? |
I live in Texas. I got a ticket a couple of months ago for driving without insurance and got assigned Community Service. Well, I just got around to the Community Service and won't be able to finish my hours until 2 weeks after the deadline. First, the judge will want to know why you could not do it. IF it is for good reasons (more than likely, you will need to show proof why you were not able to), the judge MAY allow for an extension or put you in jail for 1-3 days. you get one night free stay at the county hotel |
