Not sure what catagory this falls under....? |
My mom was in an accident which totalled her Jeep. It wasn't her fault. She has lost wages from work, had to hire someone to come in and help with the day care (she owns it) and is having problems with her knew, which makes it almost impossible to walk. She is going to hire a lawyer. One person says to wait until she sees what the young girl's insurance company offers and another person says to get a lawyer right away.....which is best? Get an attorney. She doesn't know what she is "legally entitled to" and the girl's insurance company will try to "low ball" her and get away with paying her as little as possible. I've been there and listened to an offer from the other's insurance company, only to get an attorney and get far more in the long run. Attorneys pay for themselves in this type of situation. You hire the services of lawyer straight away and file the case of compensation against the driver (the young girl and her insurer). The best thing to do is to hire an attorney. Most insurance companies, especially if you do not have an attorney, will try to low ball you and give you the lowest amount of money to get rid of your case, even if it does not cover all your medical expenses. When you hire an attorney, they are going to fight to get as much money as possible, because most attorneys work on a fee where they get a certain percentage of the amount recovered. Therefore, the more money the get from the insurance company, the more money they will receive (just like you). |
