Leaving scene with property damage?


hi,
iam staying in new jersey 10 days back while iam taking car from the parking lot in an appartment one car is just close to my car and iam sure that i didn't hit the car one guy is there he gave me the directions according to that i took my car after 10 days one lady came to me and arguying with me that i hit the car and the guy who is there is her witness and ask me to pay the money and she gave some estimate i called insurance guy and i file a report they are processing the claim later i received a court notice saying that i leave the incident with propery damage and ask me to appear in the court.
can anyone please suggest me what to do now.
what is the best way for this?

If this is a subpoena to appear in court, you have no choice but to go. The charge would be "hit/skip".

Best advice would be to contact an attorney in that jurisdiction to see where you stand legally.
