Is the vehicle's owner insurance responsible in an accident? |
Last Saturday some one broadsided our truck. We had the green light, he was supposed to yield, but instead he turned right into us. Our truck was totalled, and my mom had to go to the er by ambulance. We only have liability insurance. On Sunday, the police called and said he was driving with a suspended license. Then we got a call from our insurance company saying that his insurance was expired as well. We just got the police report, and it says that someone else is the cars owner ( I don't think that they are married-different last names), and she has liability insurance. My main question is: is her insurance responsible? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Most likely the owner of the vehicle can be held liable. She may even face legal charges for allowing an unlicensed person to drive her vehicle. Yes, the owner is responsible for the vehicle. My insurance collects their money from the other insurance company. Check with your agent. No. The insurance is liable, not responsible. Her insurance is responsible for damages caused by her vehicle! Hope they play ball so you don't have to sue! ;-(= Yes she is. simple as that. File against her insurance company ASAP!!!! |
