Insurance Claim - UK?

My husband's solicitor has brought in a senior barrister to help with an on-going insurance claim.

How will this affect the pay-out?

Why would they bring in a senior barrister?

Will it lengthen the claim process considerably?

Thanks in advance!

Insurance claims work on a settlement being made, and then legal fees are added on top.

So having the extra "fire power" won't change what he gets if he wins
