Insurance or legal question. Was in a car accident 2 years ago. . . .? |
I just received an invoice in the mail stating that I owe the ministry $3500 as that would cover the costs of the municipal fire departments and emergency services. The accident was a 10 car pile up and I was the 7th car. The officer asked me if I was hurt and as there were very minor damages to my vehicle and I was ok to just leave. So I did and now 2 years to the date am being charged as the "ministry is legally entitled to recover these charges from the responsible motorist". WTF? Get a lawyer. Now. Contact the Lawyer Referral Service for a 30 minute consultation for $25 (BC), or the equivalent in your province or territory. You can find the information through the Canadian Bar Association website: www.cba.org. |
