No Insurance Hit and Run....? |
Friend is out one night, late...Is not driving (she says)....says a car broad sided her...nobody was hurt. She has no insurance and just got her license back after being threatened to be suspended for non payment of tickets. Takes care of that...and two weeks later, the car stops running so she pulls off the road and parks it for the night. Somebody comes by and smashes out her windshield. She gets pissed and calls an attorney and sets it up to sue. Atty is sending her to a chiropractor, now she says her back is hurt and she should go "just in case". The other driver says my friend hit her, but she fled (the other driver)..so its their word against eachother. My friend after sobering up did talk to police and made a statement. What do you think the outcome is of this ? Do you see a big settlement ? The other drive IS insured. See a big settlement for what? The first incident? Was there a police report that concluded who was at fault? If there is, and it says the other driver who is insured, is at fault, then yes there may be a case. If the car she was in when the incident occored, and the police showed up, whoever was driving the car would have been ticketed and the car would have been towed. Sounds to me like someone is trying to pull one over. Nuisance value. Which changes from place to place depending on where you live. |
