During investigation from auto insurance co.Is it advisable to talk or discuss about accident over the phone?

During investigation from auto insurance co.Is it advisable to talk or discuss about accident if opposite party call over the phone and want to discuss something?I had small accident last month. There were no police report made as police said acdident happened in private property area.Opposite party belives I was at fault and they are seeking damage cost as well medicalt treatment(As I know there were no injury at both sides).Investigator from my insurance co.coming to me in order to findout more about accident. What is your best advice about this? What I supposed to do?

There should have been an accident report regardless. Now it's your word against theirs. Don't say anything you don't want used against you, don't apologize, and don't verbally accept fault. Assume your conversation is being recorded. If the charges are considerably high, consider getting an attorney.

refer all inquiries to you companies' investigator

Any time you have an accident, call the authorities it is their job to determine who was at fault, and if the person needs medical treatment. And don't discuss anything with them without a lawyer present. Your insurance agent can act as your attorney.
