Can I report a ticket that someone has received to their insurance company if I know that they didn't?

I have a cousin that has wrecked 2 cars in the last 4 months (the second wreck was not reported to his insurance because it was someone elses car and they did not sue his insurance). In March, he received a ticket for doing 95 in a 55. He was lucky because the cop did not give him wreckless driving, but just an outstanding ticket. He went to court at the begining of May, and he has to pay the ticket. His insurance does not know about the ticket, and he does not plan to tell them. I recently learned about the situation (he was braging to me about it) and I know his insurance carrier. I believe that the company should know because he has very poor driving skills, is there any way I could notify the company? I know this might sound like my place to do this, but his parents aren't going to report it, and would you want a wreckless driver like him on the road?

They will find out when they get his abstract at renewal time.

Maybe it would be a good idea for you to keep your nose out of it.

It really is none of your business.

You don't have to report it and neither does he. When the insurance renews they will run a check and find out about it themselves.

Darwin's laws suggest that sooner or later he will eliminate himself from active participation in the gene pool. Let's hope he does it on his own. Meanwhile, you will be a snitch and noone likes a snitch.

sooner or later, before his renewal, his insurance company will know about it. I don't think telling his insurance company will be necessary. To be blunt, it will get you the reputation as a major tattletale. He is not required by law to report his ticket(s) to his insurance. They will find out. The courts will report it to the DMV and from there it will go on his licence. His insurance carrier will eventually check his licence as they regularly do before renewall. I don't think it will be long until they suspend his licence. I don't think it will be long until his insurance is cancelled.

Part of my wants to tell you to report him, because it is the honest thing to do, but my only fear is that if you report him, The only thing that will really happen will be that his monthly pymt amount will go up.

If it gets to high, he might end up just not renewing his insurance. That may not however stop him from illegally driving the vehicle.

Then what happens if he gets into another accident. The other person or Family involved could have huge problems if someone is severely hurt or killed and he has no insurance.

I know its not a perfect answer, and its not exactly ethical, but that's just my opinion.
