Should people die if they cannot afford health insurance? |
Believe it or not, people have died because their insurance company dropped them and/or refused to pay for treatment, or they had no insurance at all. Just watch Micheal Moore's Sicko to realize this disturbing reality. Of course not, and that fact that Americans are defending this type of health care system is quite troubling. Not in this country, if it's an emergency you will be taken care of first. That is the law. You hear one story and you make a mountain out of it. No it's not right. But the current administration believes that if that's their lot in life, it's just too bad. It is not alright. I can't stand that health stuff costs so much here. Hospitals do not turn people away due to inability to pay. You may end up owing more money than you've ever seen, but you will be treated. People end up dying because they feel money is more important than their health. Not at all. I equate it to calling 911 and then nobody responds. Healthcare is just as important as police, fire, schools, roads, etc. Yes, that would be the kindes thing to do. Then the U.S. taxpayers don't have to pay for their care. There is a federally funded program called Medicaid. Anyone can apply. There are free clinics in every state. For those who don't qualify for Medicaid, there are programs which will allow you to pay according to income. This country provides more goods and services to people at ittle or no cost than you can possibly believe. Income is the key to figuring out the cost. I pay taxes with little or no refund to support these programs. That doesn't count food stamps, low income housing, special programs for kids and pregnant women, WIC, transportation, and I could go on forever. If you want to see death and poverty, go to any 3rd world country. The poorest of our poor live incredibly better than most of the poor in this world. The really poor don't have clean water, indoor plumbing, refrigeration, toilet paper, and so on. Most of the poor in this country have tvs, and luxuries beyond the imagination of the really poor. Think again. Not even seeing the inside of a hospital for treatment? Micheal Moore is LESS credible as a source than Communist China's official news outlets. NO ONE has EVER died because they could not PAY for medical care. MANY more people than you think die because they don't receive medical care. food for thought-just think of ,unions, health and any insurance as the mafia you pay or else, the problem is not in this country alone but many others but they have a better system than ours, just look at Canada and i think USA needs a strong reform, because common sense tell me that no q-tip made in any part of the world can cost 25.00 and i paid that on one of my bills and when asked about it they said that it was just a typo but then i started to check all my family bills and if you have the time do this and really pay attention you will understand what i am talking about .and now. to answer the question ,no but all around the world hundred of thousands die for lack of medical attention money or no money ,insurance or no insurance, just remember more than 80% of the worlds people never heard of such a thing as health insurance Yes. I like the way you phrased this question. |
