I was in accident and didn't get the insurance.(Law inforcement officers plz answer)? |
I got in a accident in my high school parking lot. The person that backed into me said he was going to pay for it with his own money because he didn't want to use insurance. It turns out he didn't have insurance, but i went to them with an estimate and they r telling me they don't want to pay that much and they want to me to go to a different place. I am going to go to the place they recommended, but i want to know what will happen if i file a police report? I also have a teacher and friend as a witness. Can i file a BTW in Texas. What should i do? I did not call the police bcuz we have a campus cop who is not really doing much. they r also telling me that the police report will not help bcuz he is in high school and 18. what do u think. Well, first of all, if the other person is at fault, they do not get to choose where to get the work done. If you want it completed at a certain place, even if it's a dealership or extravagantly-expensive repair shop, that's your prerogative. If the person had complied with insurance laws they would be able to avoid paying this much, but they didn't, so the law punishes them by letting YOU, the victim, choose where your car is going to be fixed. It's too late to file a police report and probably wouldn't add too much to your case. |
