Are other children entitled to a part of life insurance that another child recieves? |
If one child gets life insurance from the death of a parent are the other children of that parent entitled to a portion of the life insuracnce. If the life insurance policy name a beneficiary other than the estate of the person insured, the only person entitled to the proceeds is the named beneficiary. The policy IS NOT part of the estate. depends how the policy and the will was written. But no, they are not entitled to anything someone else gets. Only if the parent names each child as an equal beneficiary and annotates the percentages to be dispersed in the contract/policy. |
