Insurance Fraud?

I shipped out a package worth about $45,000 using a courier company. When the receiver got the package the tape was cut and the items were missing. We started a tracking process, then claim. The people working on the claim want to pin it on one of us and call it fraud. What do I do?

Wrongly accused people go to jail everyday, could I go to jail? If they can prove fraud (not sure how) would they just deny the claim or would we have to go to court?

I forgot to mention that I piad for insurance too.

Did you purchase insurance? Did you state the value?

My company has an account with UPS and in the past 7 years we have only had to file two complaints. One was for damaged parts that totaled $500 and UPS drug their feet and finally paid about a year after it happened. The second one was for $21 and they paid in 3 weeks (they lost the part)!

SO, whatever shipping company you used be ready to fight it and take them to court!

Always take the insurance and on a package of that value take a picture of the box the day it is shipped. Have the recipient do the same on the receiving end!
