Unemploment Insurance - if my comany put "dismissed" on the back of my form can I still collect unemployment?

***Please note: Looking for answers from people who know the Ontario, Canada unemployment system.

My company gave me the option of resigning or for them to "let me go" so that I could collect unemployment but they put "dimissed" on the back of the form rather than "other" or "shortage of work".

Can I still collect unemployment??

If so what do I tell the government when they call?

Yes, you can still collect unemployment. As long as it states dismissed like you say, you will be provided with unemployment. I've provided a link in case you have any further questions. Hope this helps.
