Do you agree with these people who say that our Immigration Laws are too strict?

http://www.socialistworker.co.uk/art.php...

In most EU countries the laws are, more or less, equally strict. What is lacking is
1.a decent 鈥渆ntry processing system鈥? which should take place in the countries of origin, in order to take the 鈥減eople running鈥?out of the hands of organised crime;
2.an efficient 鈥渃apture and deportation system鈥? for illegals, who are controlled by organised crime.
Although present cooperation between all European Law Enforcement bodies is quite high, there is still room for improvement in guaranteeing our frontiers and in the selection process for foreign workers who are 鈥渘eeded鈥?in our community, and let鈥檚 not kid ourselves, they are needed in a number of sectors where 鈥渙ur lot鈥?have no wish to work. All this would also help the anti terrorist drive, as the 鈥渋llegal scenario鈥?is a hot bed of crime and subversion. Sorry if I鈥檓 brutal, but Nat Sec is one of my tasks.

In Rome, this afternoon, the new Right Wing Lord Mayor was elected on a Security ticket, which lists taking 鈥淩omanys鈥?from the streets and if the don't get a job sent back "home", and guaranteeing foreign workers legality. People are simply fed up with all this laisser faire, where little Balkan Romany children are deformed and sent on the streets to beg and organised crime channels illegals into prostitution and drug running.

I just know after 2001 getting into country legally has gotten much harder than illegally, as the scrutiny has gone to extreme levels and visa applications for many people are just denied

immigration is one thing, immigration from southern border is another!

one has too much enforcement, one has almost none!

I sometimes wonder what if a bad intended person goes to mexico some how and just walks right over the border, who is going to protect us from that!? although i know there is a very slim chance for that due to geopolitics!

these days you have to wait a quite a number of years usually for a green card process and there are countless delays and hassles for those who want to maintain legal status

the above has very few exceptions depending on what type of job and how much education/specialty one has! but very few exceptions, eg nursing!

Since this article is about the laws in England, we here in the States cannot really comment, as we know very little of your laws, BUT,
the laws regarding immigration here, suck, and not only are not strict enough, but are subject to very little enforcement.
Our parasitic government is too busy trying to impose stricter laws on it's citizens, too be able to spend time and money on the illegal immigration.

Who are "these people"?
I was going to say how can a law be too strict when it allows the vast quantity of illegal immigrants we have...but someone made a good point...it doesn't matter what the laws say if they aren't enforced.
And from what I've heard that is the first part of the problem to be addressed. It is pointless to make new laws when the ones we have aren't being enforced. We need to figure out a way to enforce the laws, then go about the task of making laws that accomplish our end goal.

Our immigration laws are in fact very good ones. What is lacking is the will to apply them, a problem which has been present with us for a number of years. It is perfectly reasonable to expect a certain standard of education of workers in the catering industry, as our health and safety laws are very stringent and any employer who is found falling below the standard can find himself facing prosecution and even have his business closed down until the problem has been sorted out. I happen to live in a country where there is no health and safety legislation and one sees kitchen staff on their way to work in a posh resort wearing their white kitchen garb and standing in the dust of the road waiting for public transport.

Speaking as an outsider, and an American, I also cannot comment on U.K. laws. However, I do think that one should be judged according to what one's skills. And as to U.S. immigration, it is terrible. People sucking up to us, and taking advantage of all the privileges we offer, such as education, equality, and freedom. Being half-Latina, I can say that Latinos are the biggest candidates for taking advantage of all that Americans offer. Some come to have the chance to make something of themselves, but others simply tarnish the view that people take of Latinos.

iyou can put all the laws you want to but you take people who are starving and want to work on things that americans are to lazy to do and they will come no matter what americans are lazy and dont want to do labor jobs

The U.S. immigration laws should be made more strict if anything. Not to mention enforce them with an iron fist.

There is a LEGAL way to enter the country, the people who commit a crime to enter it should be given no leeway at all.

They should let more people in each year so it will cut down on the wait list and maybe more people will be willing to come here legally rather than illegally cause they will not have to wait 4 or more years to get theirs citizenship

I dont think that immigration laws are strict enough!

I think the idea of having a pionts system like australia or cananda could really help our country!!

It doesn't matter how strict the laws are when they are not enforced.

Do we have immigration laws? I thought the only law was let them all in until we sink.

No they are not strict enough.

i dont think they are too strict.

Let me think it out. Do I agree we have Immigration laws?

No.

is this a joke ? very funny haha .

No!I believe they are to soft!
