Felons and immigration? |
Ok fellas, i need your help. I am a British Citizen, I just married my American boyfriend. We are planning on going through the immigration process soon. I would like to know if an American with a felony record can file for immigration benefits for a "clean" immigrant spouse. Theoretically, only the criminal record of the applicant (not the sponsor) is taken into account. Exceptions might be made for sponsors with a history of immigration fraud or similar conduct, but generally the applicant is not punished for the prior conduct of the sponsor. |
