Marrage immigration issue? |
Here is my situation, or rather my wife's. She is in the US legally, on exchange from France. We got married in november and submitted our papers for her being able to stay shortly afterwards. The immigration department will likely not finish processing the application before her visa expires. Can she legally stay in the US until the papers arrive or will she need to go back? This process is not very well explained anywhere I've looked so if there are any lawyers out there your help is greatly appreciated. I had to do the I129 and later the I130. Why are you asking us? This is a serious issue and you should be checking with an attorney or a state representative. Check with the closest French Embassy. |
