The truth about illegal immigration, do you agree?

many people are angry that these illegals are "illegally" coming to this country univited (mexico-usa), not learning the native language (english) , and not respecting the laws of the land (us law). but isn't that EXACTLY what the "white" europeans did to the "dark" skinned hispanics and indians when they came to north america uninvited (britian-nor am.). didn't learn the native language (spanish), FORCED the people to learn english, and didn't respect the government that already existed before the europeans arrived? do you think it is a coincidence that the two main english-speaking countries of na (USA, CANADA) are doing just fine while the 18 other SPANISH speaking countries in na are living in poverty? where's lou dobbs on the illegal immigration of the europeans, who disrespect of spanish culture is the reason why we are speaking english today!

I agree to a point. The European migration, however occurred 400-500 years ago. It's not really news. Even the most recent acquisitions from Mexico were 200 years ago. I don't know anyone that is old enough to have had a direct hand in that. The fact is that this is the 21st century and the United States of America exists. The thing for Americans to do is figure out how to keep it existing and to do what it takes to make it a better country. We don't need to sit around and feel so guilty about our ancestors that we give away everything for which the current living Americans have worked.

You forget that it was the spanish and portuguese that came over and pushed the indigenous people out of the way and created a spanish culture in in central and south america in the first place...since you want to reference history.

In reality, the issue is simple. Today there are established countries, borders, and laws. Those that cross them without authorization are criminals, plain and simple. Those that hire these criminals knowingly are also criminals. Both should be treated as such. Other things, like this ridiculous "european treatment of spanish culture" argument are nothing but smokescreens to distract from the criminal activity.

Note: The "Natives" are not "hispanic/latino." They were overrun by spanish "conquistadors." They did the same thing that european settlers did in North America. The LONG post below is based on a fallacy. Millions of years? Hysterical!

You can see the effect of these europeans who came to this country long ago. The US is what it is because of the sum totality of everything that has happened in the past. Is it possible to speculate that IF the hispanic countries were colonized (not by spain) as well, that they would be better-off than they are now?

One of the main contention of immigration per se is to be able to CHOOSE the best of the best of immigrants who want to enter your country. That is so you can make your country a better one. What is happening is that those who sneak in are those losers who can't even make it in their country. Many of them are crooks wanting to expand their criminal activities in the US. I SAID MANY - NOT ALL.**

yes, i agree, EVERYONE came to this land from somewhere else (even the native americans), but the main difference is that europeans have been living on this land for 400 years. the native americans (hispanic/latino) were living on this land for MILLIONS of years. You can't even compare. Many cities (los angeles, san Francisco, san diego, el paso, santa ana, the list goes on鈥︹€? still have, yes, SPANISH names because of the original spanish settlements in that area. AT LEAST the Europeans decided to keep 鈥渟an diego鈥?instead of translating it into the English 鈥淪AINT DIEGO.鈥?In fact, the entire state of California is named after a SPANISH island.
and i want to say that it was NECESSARY to BREAK LAWS for this country to be what it is today, and just because it is the law doesn't make it right. for example, as SHORT as 40 years ago, minorities such as blacks COULDN'T VOTE. They were forbidden by LAW TO VOTE. It was also LAW that a black man was 1/3 of a man of their white masters. Segregation used to be THE LAW. Slavery used to be the law. Jim Crow used to be THE LAW. Rosa Parks broke THE LAW when she didn't give her seat up to the white man. Harriet Tubman broke the law SEVERAL TIMES bringing blacks out of the slavery in the us to canada. Wasn't she breaking the law? Were THOSE people forced to go back to the slavery and oppression in the US? Harriet Tubman was considered a criminal by the oppresive white man who didn't want her to free blacks. Bujust because the blacks wanted to leave the us for canada when the us was under slavery doesn't make them "illegal." in the eyes of the white man, yes. but in reality, no.
same thing with mexico. its NOT fair, and NOT a coincidence that the only two ENGLISH SPEAKING countries in north america (US AND CANADA) are doing fine, but central american and the carribean and mexico (SPANISH-SPEAKING) are completely in despair and poverty. and who's to say that the indians/hispanic's DIDN'T have laws about immigrating into their villages? the white europeans writing the history books? remember that the winners write history, and if these white british europeans were indeed the "winners", they would write history to seem like they were "invited" to this land and they had rights to the land all along (when the native americans were there for MILLIONS of years!). it is proven that the native americans did have a GOVERMENT and a STATE (not like the large cities we see today), but a government or state nevertheless in their villages. and they had laws for the people and children to follow in the villages. and also they had an official language they SPOKE. if it was spanish is one thing, but it WASN'T english. they had laws for their villages, and the europeans decided to create their own state, government, language, and laws on a land that alread had a state, government, language, laws enforced by the native americans for millions of years, probably before any of english colonizers were even BORN.
in the end, we are afraid of what we don't know. the europeans didn't understand anything about these people, they LOOKED different, they SPOKE a different language, they had a smaller form of goverment unlike europe, so they wrote in the history books that they were savages, was so ignorant to think that there skin was "burned" by the sun since they had never seen a non-white person, and thought they were crazy and stupid because they spoke a language OTHER than english. and, might I add, once they DID take the land, they were so lazy to build the land, they brought another entire race - blacks - on the slave ship, to the continent, to work the land.
now to the word "criminal"
if we define that word literally, a criminal is someone who breaks the law. MLK was seen as a criminal by many for his peace protests. rosa parks was seen as a criminal for BREAKING THE LAW by not giving her seat up to a white man. blacks were seen as criminals because they BROKE THE LAW with jim crow and when they sat at white counters in restaurants. and we cant forget the criminal that was so big and bad that she had a bounty on her head to get her killed - harriet tubman! she BROKE IMMIGRATION LAWS when she took her oppresed people in the us into canada. do you think that she could "wait" to apply for citizenship when her people were beaten and starved to death? Do you (not the white slave owners but YOU) consider the blacks who ILLEGALLY crossed into Canada criminals, where for their whole lives they lives in poverty and despair? When all they wanted to do was escape for their oppressive enviorments Would you put them on the same status of these white men who WERE doing criminal things, who WERE killing slaves, who WERE beating slaves, who WERE starving slaves, lynching slaves but in the eyes of the law 鈥渢hat鈥?wasn鈥檛 criminal?
Same thing with these illegal immigrants. the illegal immigrants have been oppressed and living in poverty for much of their lives as well. Personally, I nor anyone really knows what life is like in mexico, so we can鈥檛 鈥渏udge鈥?how life is like there from the richest county in the world. The slums of mexico city would make new york city projects look like paradise to these people, just like the dirt of canada鈥檚 ground was more of paradise to these black people than these elegant mansions they worked the plantation from in the south. You want to call these people criminals, just like the Canadians probably called those black people who were escaping a life of torment and pain in the states? You want to call these people criminals, just like the 鈥渟o called white man鈥?called these racial integraters criminals in segregation, or called harriet a criminal, or the blacks who fled from the states to Canada criminals, or the Hispanics who fled from mexico to America criminals? IN THE EYES OF THE LAW, they are criminals, but the eyes of the law aren鈥檛 always right as I proved above. We don鈥檛 complain when they give us our mail, give us our pizza, clean the water off of the hotel floor while we are on vacation, but we want to complain when for ONE DAY OUT OF 365 they emerge from the restaurant kitchens, the carwashes, the construction sites to protest that they should be allowed a PATHWAY TO CITIZENSHIP, and then we want to act like WE are the victims to a race that have been oppressed ever since the greedy white land owners landed on their peaceful villages and intruded in. I have much more to say, but I want to say I am an African-american where SIXTY PERCENT of blacks don鈥檛 want these Hispanic immigrants 鈥渋llegally鈥?immigrating into the US, just like the Canadians didn鈥檛 want the black people 鈥渋llegally鈥?immigrating into their country trying to escape a life of oppression. Just to end, people ask 鈥淪o why DON鈥橳 they come legally then?鈥?These people are trying to escape poverty and they can not just wait for 鈥減overty鈥?to kill their children of hunger and thirst why they 鈥渨ait鈥?to go through the process. A great number of immigrants find in much easier to immigrate officially once they are in us borders because they can feed the stomachs of their children why they are doing it, instead of them becoming like the tens of thousands of Mexican children who died last night of extreme hunger. I have much to say but im tired of typing :)
